The Family

This past week was a very rewarding week as for as missionary work goes. About a week and half ago Elder Sorensen was out teaching with the Elders and they taught a little family which actually had a mother and father living in the same household. After that teaching appointment, the Elders went back a couple of times to teach and then the mother came to church. Then the next week the Elders continued to teach the family. The Elders stopped in on their way home on Wednesday night and said that the whole family had committed to a baptismal date. There was one slight problem though. The mother and father are not married and have been living together for 14 years and have even known each other longer than that. So there will need to be a wedding before there can be a baptism. Thursday night we went with the Elders again to teach and we talked about how families can be together forever. Elder Sorensen and I were able to share about our children and grandchildren. Some times I feel the experience the senior couples have had can really help the investigators. The whole family came to church Sunday and set the date of June 4th to be baptised. The wedding will take place in the morning and 6 baptisms in the afternoon. Here is a picture of the family with Elder Sorensen and I and also their little granddaughter. What a darling family. We are so excited for them and pray all will go well for them.

We also had the opportunity to go teaching, with the Elders, another gentlemen by the name of Peter. Peter is a best friend to our branch president. President Lee has been inviting him to church for along time. Then a couple of weeks ago he showed up at church, which just made President Lee's day. He has a baptismal date set for the 28th. How exciting!
