Winnie & Kassan's Baptisim & Easter Family Fun Day

On April the 22nd two girls from the branch here in Montego Bay were baptised by the branch president, President Lee. Winnie, the older of the two girls, is President Lee's grandaughter. She was going to be baptised at Christmas time and that was going to be her Grandfathers Christmas present. It didn't quite work out that way and needless to say her Grandfather was quite vexed. So she surprised him and gave him an Easter present instead. She is a darling young lady. Winnie lives with her Grandparents and they are a great example for her. Elder Sorensen had the privilege to interview her for baptism and was really impressed with her testimony.
The other little girl is Kassan and lives with her Grandmother, Sister Young from our branch. Kassan just turned 8 and has been so excited for her baptism. The girls were both confirmed members of the church in sacrament meeting Sunday. President Grant, first councilor in the branch presidency, had them both come up and bear their testimony. Kassan was a little shy at first but did a great job. Here are a couple of pictures of the baptisim. The first picture is a picture of President Lee, Winnie, and Kassan. EASTER FAMILY FUN DAY

In Jamaica they celebrate Easter from Friday through Monday. Monday is called "Easter Family Fun Day". The branch had a party at the church that started at ten in the morning and was still going when we left at five. They prepared a big dinner and had lots of games, talent show, dance contest, and much socializing. It was really a lot of fun. They had a bun eating contest and the two elders, Elder Conder and Elder Randle, deciced they would give it a try. Elder Conder ended up winning. Below is the video clip.
