Missionary Conference

We attended a missionary conference in Kingston on Monday. Elder Anderson, who is the area president over all the Caribbean Mission, was the guest speaker. He spoke on teaching through the spirit and revelation. All the missionaries and senior couples through out the island were in attendance. On Sunday evening 4 elders from the Sav and Negril branches came and stayed at our house. It was just like old times when Kade's friends used to all come and stay over. We got up early Monday morning and drove to Kingston. This was my first experience driving all the way there. The only way I was able to do this was I had a Jamaican missionary riding with us for a guide. It is about a 4 hour drive. When we arrived there we had lunch with all the other senior couples and then had to be in our seats for the conference at 2:30. The conference was supposed to start at 3:00 but didn't get started till about 3:45. The conference was excellent. We left Kingston about 7:00 P.M. and didn't get home until about midnight. It was a very long day. Fred drove part of the way home, so we're both getting a little more experience in driving the Jamaican way. The elders all spent the night again and left this morning to go back to their areas. We really enjoyed having them. We did have to go to the grocery store and restock today.
