Where Shoud I Start?

I guess the place to start is at the beginning. So much has happened since I last published a post. The first thing I'm going to write about is the visit we had from two of our daughters, Kim and Amber, and my two sisters, Sheila and Naunie. It was so great to have them here. We picked them up from the Montego Bay airport on March the 10th. They were here until the 15th. We had so much fun with them and were able to visit some places we hadn't been to yet. They were able to see both sides of Jamaica, what the average tourist sees and also all the poverty that exists here. I know they left loving Jamaica and also the people. I will attach a few pictures of places we went and things we saw.

This picture was taken at the Yacht Club here in Montego Bay. Our landlord, Shernett Rose, treated us all to a lobster dinner. How good can it get?

The next two days, Friday and Saturday, we had a tour guide by the name of Peter, who took us from Ochi to Negril. Peter is our neighbor. Below is a picture of Peter and my sister Naunie.

On Friday morning we floated the Martha Brae river in Falmouth. Here is a picture of Kim and Amber on the bamboo raft.

After the float trip on the Martha Brae river we headed up the coast to Ochi Rios where we went to Mystic Mountain. Everyone had a great time there. The girls all did the zipline, which takes a lot of courage.

All decked out for the ride.

This big cottonwood tree is over 500 years old. It was at the entrance to Mystic Mountain.

On Saturday we spent the day in Negril going to the beach and then we stayed and watched the sunset and cliff divers.

We all attended church on Sunday at the MoBay branch. The family had a hard time understanding some of the talks and lessons because some of it was spoken in Patois. Patois is a mixture of African, French, and English.

On Monday we just toured around MoBay. Monday also was our half way mark of our mission. We have now been here 9 months as of March 14th.

Tuesday we took everyone to the airport and had to end a very enjoyable five days. "All good things must come to an end".

SUNDAY - March 20th

Today we had a baptism for Jordan. He wanted to be baptised in the ocean even though we have a font in our chapel. Elder Randle performed the baptism and Elder Conder witnessed it. His mother, Sister Harvey, is a member and such a sweet lady. Jordan was baptised on his birthday and just turned 10 years old.

TUESDAY - March 22nd

Today we went to Falmouth to visit some of the members there that are unable to come to MoBay to church. We visit them each week and have a lesson with them and check on how they are doing. Below is a picture of two members we visit with Elder Sorensen. The little lady is Sister Bower. She just lives for us to come and visit her each week. The other lady is Sister Salene. The little baby is Sister Bowers granddaughter.

While we were in Falmouth the biggest cruise ship in the world docked there that day. It was called the, "Oasis of the Sea". It was just huge. They just verily finished the port so a ship that large could dock there.
