When we arrived in Kingston Sister Russel got off the toll road at the wrong place and we ended up being lost for about a half hour. Finally through getting in contact with the mission office we were directed to the Price Savers, which is like our Costco back home. There we met the office couple missionaries, the Chessmans. From Price Savers we were following the Chessmans to the mission home for the barbecue when we almost met our maker. Sister Russel was trying to stay close to the Chessmans so she wouldn't loose them and pulled out in front of a large 2 ton millitary truck going about 50 miles an hour. The driver of the truck slammed on his breaks. He swerved and skidded just barely missing hitting us broad side. I know while serving a mission we are truly protected. Our Father in Heaven was watching over us. It was nothing less than a miracle that we were not hit. We continued on to the mission home for the barbecue. President and Sister Hendricks had prepared a wonderful meal. After dinner we sang songs and shared stories about our ancestors and played games. Below is a picture of the seven senior missionary couples serving in the Jamaica Kingston Mission and President and Sister Hendricks. President Hendricks is the one in a red shirt in the middle of the picture. What a very fun and EXCITING day. We left to go back to MoBay at 4:30 in the afternoon and arrived home safely at about 9:00 P.M.
